3 Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari in Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by your professional safari guide.

If time allows, enjoy a guided Kigali city tour including a meaningful visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Gain insight into Rwanda’s history and remarkable transformation.

After lunch, drive approximately 2.5 hours north to Volcanoes National Park. The scenic journey showcases Rwanda’s breathtaking landscapes of terraced hills and vibrant countryside.

Arrive at your lodge near the park, check in, and relax ahead of tomorrow’s life changing adventure.

Overnight near Volcanoes National Park.

Upon arrival, head straight for an en route game drive as you enter the park. Watch for Rothschild giraffes, elephants, hartebeest, buffalo, and predators such as lions and leopards.

In the afternoon, visit the top of Murchison Falls where the Nile explodes through a narrow 7 meter gorge. Feel the thunder of the water and capture spectacular photos.

Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay inside or near the park.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers. You will be allocated a gorilla family group and begin your guided trek into the forest.

Trekking can take between one to four hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once found, spend one unforgettable hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Watch silverbacks guard their families, juveniles play, and mothers care for their young.

This intimate encounter is widely regarded as one of the greatest wildlife experiences on Earth.

Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Optional afternoon cultural visit available.

Dinner and overnight near Volcanoes National Park.

After lunch, embark on a boat safari along the Nile River toward the base of Murchison Falls. This cruise offers unmatched views of hippos, giant crocodiles, elephants, and a wide variety of bird species along the riverbanks.

Disembark near the falls and return by road to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the evening with unforgettable memories of Uganda’s wild beauty.

After breakfast, return to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking. These rare and energetic primates inhabit the bamboo forests at the base of the Virunga volcanoes and offer a completely different but equally fascinating experience.

After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and check out.
