Full Day Trip

Early Morning: Transfer to Bwindi

Your adventure begins very early with a pick-up from your lodge in southwestern Uganda (near Bwindi). You will transfer to the park headquarters for registration and briefing.

7:30 AM: Pre-Trek Briefing

At the park headquarters, Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers will brief you about:

  • Gorilla trekking guidelines

  • Safety procedures

  • Group allocation (8 visitors per gorilla family)

8:00 AM – Trek Begins

Venture into the dense rainforest with your ranger guide. The trek can take 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. The terrain may be steep and muddy, but the experience is incredibly rewarding.

Along the way, you may encounter:

  • Forest birds

  • Monkeys such as black-and-white colobus

  • Unique plant species

Gorilla Encounter (1 Hour)

Once the gorilla family is located, you will spend one magical hour observing them:

  • Watch silverbacks guarding their families

  • See mothers nursing infants

  • Observe juveniles playing

This close encounter is emotional, humbling, and unforgettable.

Afternoon: Return & Departure

After the trek, return to the park headquarters for your trekking certificate. Transfer back to your lodge or onward destination.
